Swim Lessons
Swim lessons are complimentary with Stardust Pool COM membership. Our lessons are designed to instill confidence in the water and focus on skill and technique. Each level requires certain goals to be mastered and progression is rewarded by advancement to next skill/lesson level.
Lessons commence the end of June and run for 5 weeks consecutively. Lessons are offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday on a two week block and run between 10 am and 12 pm.
Our swim instructors are fully certified lifeguards and have additional instructor prerequisites. Our instructor /student ratio is typically 5:1 and sometimes lower. Private swim lessons are also available at an additional fee.
Swim levels
Introduction to Water
Your child will learn to put his face in the water, blow bubbles, and develop leg and arm movement – the perfect first swim class. These lessons are held in the baby pool ensuring comfort.
Beginner
For the child who is comfortable in the water, this class develops higher level arm and leg movements needed to begin stroke development, floating, jumping into the water from the edge of the pool, going under water, etc. Held on the steps and shallow end.
Advanced Beginner
This class initiates stroke development. Children must be able to swim (in any form) to the lane line and back to the edge of the pool in lane 6. The instructor will need to ensure that all participants have this skill on the first day of class. Held by the slide.
Intermediate
This class provides a continuation of stroke development. Children will work on all strokes by doing laps the full length of the pool in lane 4.
Diving Board
Stardust Pool offers 2 diving boards, high and low for your enjoyment. To ensure safety of our members, use of the diving boards requires that all members read the Diving Board safety requirements and also sign the Dive board permission form. If a child is 12 years old or younger, a parent must sign the child up for a diving safety session and deep water swim test before the child is permitted to use the diving boards.
